Pinata Completed

Here is the completed pinata with a pull string and I actually found a use for those cheap wire hangers and made the bow on the box out of leftover wrapping bits. :) Can't wait for the boys to beat the crap out of it at Christmas.

Christmas Traditions

Don't hate me since I'm posting this before Thanksgiving, but I had been thinking about something we'd like to do every year for Christmas. Recently my boys were watching a video of a pinata being hit and they giggled so much. I thought a pinata at Christmastime would be a lovely idea. I started looking around online and in stores and decided that we would make our own. I didn't want to deal with paper mache so I decided to make a pull-string one.

I'm going to use a cardboard box, fill it with toys and candy, cut the bottom and tie a couple of ropes and attach it to the bottom of the box, wrap it in Christmas wrapping paper, and attach a hook at the top. Then when we go outside to hit the pinata we'll put a sheet or blanket under the tree where we will be hitting the pinata. That way we won't have to pick up everything by hand and just pick up the blanket. :)

Just thought I'd share in case anyone else would like to have a fun filled pinata Christmas too. I may post a picture when I have completed the task.

Obsessions

Right now my sons are obsessed with using the word scared. When they play with the flashlights, it's all about being scared. I think watching an episode of Scooby-Doo made it worse. Ha ha. My daughter is currently obsessed with sitting up. It is all she wants to do. Unfortunately it will be awhile before she can do that on her own.

Back of the T-shirt

Turtle shell outline. I will be leaving it like it is. Just think of it as a minimalistic teenage mutant ninja turtle costume. I was going to do something on the sleeve, but I decided against it. I have 2 1/2 shirts done. Only 2 1/2 more to go!

Leonardo continued . . .

I added highlights on the mask. I will redo the black lines then try to do the turtle shell on the back. Maybe even paint a picture of the weapon on the arm of the shirt. We'll see

Crappy . . . I mean "crafty" Halloween costume

Working on Halloween costumes for the fam. Since the only place we'll be going for Halloween is the church trunk or treat we have to stay away from face paint and masks so I decided to paint some t-shirts. I'm not the most artistic person, but I hope it resembles a teenage mutant ninja turtle.

My inspiration for the drawing . . . a connect the dot coloring page.

I'll do a turtle shell on the back of the t-shirt, but for now I'll have to wait till the paint dries. Of course everyone will have weapons and a sash to go around their head. Maybe we'll even eat some pizza on Halloween.

You could say our Halloween costumes were inspired by our neighbors.

This wasn't even the biggest stack of pizza boxes. :)

Baby Carrier Adventure

Just came back from the doctor. Had to get another ultrasound because my belly was measuring small. Good thing little girl is only a week behind. What can I say except I hide babies in my belly very well. I recently bought a baby carrier. I couldn't do wraps or slings. First of all I can barely tie my shoes let alone envelop the entirety of my body and a baby's in cloth without it coming apart while twin toddlers are running around me in circles. I'd like to thank everyone who made a suggestion on Facebook because those suggestions led me to what I bought. I had wanted a Ergobaby but people kept bidding me up on ebay and I really didn't want to take out a mortgage to get a baby carrier. Now if I had that kind of money to drop I would have bought an Ergobaby in an instant. I found some similar ergonomic carriers like the Babybjorn comfort, Pongae, and Lillebaby. None are cheap by any standards to me, but I was able to find a decent deal, 50% off for a Lillebaby and at my favorite online store of all places . . . Amazon.com. Of course there was only one color that was 50% off but I could care less if it was lime green with orange stripes and purple polka-dots as long as it was comfy and safe for the both of us. Can't wait to try it out. :)

Silly boy

We were planning on Michael sleeping on a mattress on the floor so the baby could have a crib, but he was depressed that he didn't have a bed anymore and wasn't sleeping well at night so we bought him a toddler bed. Silly boy making us spend money. On another note my boys are obsessed with rackets and love to play with them. Maybe we have a badminton pro in our midst. ;)

Some Stuff To Say

I have been in a necklace making mood lately so here is a picture of my latest creation. There are just some times where you need to make things like necklaces, food, and messes. :) On a separate note we have put up the crib in our room and the boys are now in forward facing seats so when the baby comes they don't think she is taking their carseat. It's hard to believe that they will be two in less than a month!

Time for a necklace

I just finished beading this necklace. For some reason I always tend to lean toward fallish colors. I have no idea why as my favorite color is blue. I guess I find those colors aesthetically pleasing.

Social Experiment

I rarely dress my boys alike, but I did it today for a social experiment. I wondered if anyone would come up to us and ask us if they were twins when they were dressed alike. No one did. I guess people assume all young twins dress alike, but we did get a question about whether the boys had rhyming names. What I have learned: dress alike=twins & possibly rhyming names; don't dress alike=might not be twins. Hmmm. . . .

water, apartment living

The management at our complex is dorky. When you turn off the water to a building you should have the decency to let us know. If it is an emergency I understand. This year out of the 6 times they have turned the water off on us they let us know one time. Just wanted to do laundry and cook food for my kids and maybe take a shower. Luckily I can live on the fly, but it sure gets annoying.

Clothing Optional

Today the boys decided they didn't want to wear clothes and so they ran amuck and threw scraps of paper all over the living room. I hope they don't turn into their uncle and become "Naked Man". On another note I am really craving pizza and I think I could eat a large pizza by myself, but then again my eyes are bigger than my stomach.

Pregnancy Update

My belly was measuring small so the doctor said I needed an ultrasound to check everything out. Baby girl is still measuring behind and everything else looks good except for the fact that she is breech. Hopefully she turns around otherwise I will have to have a C-section and that will make it so I have to have a C-section for any further pregnancies(if there are to be any in the future). I guess we will see.

Agreement on Names

We finally did a list of top five girl names we are considering. There is one name that we both really like, but now we just have to wait to see if any of the names suit her when she comes. Not sure if I'm going to be sharing those names just yet as they are not set in stone. Concerning middle names there is one that I would like to use and Don isn't too sure about it but maybe it will grow on him.

Two Fly Suits

Don't ask my why blogger rotated this picture.
Found two suit sets for great deals. The gray suit we got for $13 from Zulily and the black suit we got for $16 at Belk. It's too big for the boys now, but once they grow out of their other suits they will be looking super fly.  Especially whoever wears the bow tie. ;)

3rd trimester starts next week!!!

Can't believe I'm almost 66% done with this pregnancy. It'll be June before I know it. Hopefully the boys get rid of their terrible twos before then. :) I even filled out my hospital papers online so I won't have to do it when we get to the hospital.

Hair Clips

This is my first attempt at creating hair clips for my daughter's headband. It is made out of old clothes except for the fabric buttons that I bought on clearance at Michael's and the yellow ribbon I got for 33 cents.
