Hair Do

I LOVE Hobby Lobby. It's the best craft store in the known universe. Yesterday I stopped by to look in the discount section and happened upon a lovely headband. I said, "Why yes I'll buy that for $3."  I went to the button discount section and found a flower for $1. I attached it to the headband with a tie. I like the fact if I don't want to wear the flower I can detach it. I like the idea of semi-permanence. Maybe I can find some other doodads to switch out. Best $4 headband I've ever seen.

Patience Not Included

I am so DONE with apartment living but we have at least a couple of more years to go. It will be nice to not share walls with neighbors and have a backyard for the kids to run amuck in. That would be wonderful. In the meantime our new apartment complex has a small kid playground which was more than we had at our previous place. Also we don't get smoke from cigarettes in our apartment anymore. Our next door neighbors do smoke but they aren't chain smokers and they pick up after themselves. Very excited to find out where we will be in six months. Hope Don can get those papers written and published lickety split. Though I'm sure defending his dissertation will bring him stress at least he can see the end of the tunnel now.

Star Wars Christmas

I am starting a Christmas project that involves wood burning and Star Wars. You may ask why Star Wars? My husband would say: Why not Star Wars? During the extreme after Christmas discount season I went to Hobby Lobby and found a Yoda Tree Topper and thought hey I'll get this and make a Star Wars Christmas sign with some left over wood from the Plan of Salvation wood burning project I did a very long time ago.  The tree topper looks similar to this:

I did an online search and got my Yoda Christmas saying in a Stars Warish text. Searched online again for images of Star Wars snowflakes. Score! Here is my rough draft:

My wrist is just hurting thinking about all the wood burning I'm going to have to do. Now I just need to find my wood burning supplies.
