Accidents I've been in: 0. Accidents I should have been in: Infinity.

I should be dead. I don't know if it's the drivers in Alabama or what. But I have experienced multiple occasions where I should have been in accidents here. Today was especially bad since it is the weekend and Labor Day is on Monday. Let's just say I'm thankful to be standing here today. I'm glad that I didn't get in a wreck with a pickup truck and a semi. That is definitely not my idea of fun. Thankfully when I prayed, I asked and thanked for the protection that Heavenly Father provides as I travel to and from my place of residence. Who knows where I would be if God wasn't watching.

Mighty Morphin' Kristin Ranger

So I was looking in the mirror at myself and I noticed that the ends of my hair have a reddish tint. Which is weird considering I used to be a bright blonde and my hair is slowly changing into a brunette color. I am at the awkward hair color phase called dark blonde. You know the "teenage hormone phase" of hair color. Anyway before I get even further off track, I commented to my husband how I had a reddish tint in the ends of my hair ( No I did not color my hair). He said that was weird. I replied back that I'm slowly turning into him. Pretty soon I will start using big scientific words and make everyone space out around me. That would be a pretty cool super power.

Amie's Wedding

Amie and Jared got married! It was really busy and crazy. We spent a lot of time in airports but it was worth it. Especially the ice cream sundae part. ;) I also got to visit my family briefly too. Needless to say when we got back I was sick of peanuts. Unluckily we had to clean the apartment when we got back. Talk about a whirlwind of events.

First memory, I think.

For some reason I was trying to think back and figure out what my first memory was. I don't recall how old I was but I do remember that I was in the backyard and wanted to swing, but I didn't know how yet. I asked my mom to push me but she didn't because she was busy weeding the garden and what not. I decided that I was too impatient to wait so I tried to do it myself. Lo and behold I did it. I was so proud of myself. Does anyone recall what their first memory was? If you do please share. :)

How lazy are we?

After a year of living in our apartment complex, they send us a letter saying that we would be paying $3.00 every month for a valet garbage service. When I read this I thought it was stupid. I have to pay for something that I don't want to pay for. Seeming as how we are required to pay it, we are going to use it. I don't mind it, but valet garbage service is definitely not on my list of priorities. I just find this service frivolous. There arebetter things to spend my money on. Next thing you know they'll have us pay $3.00 to deliver the mail to our door. No thanks I can walk to my mailbox.

Phrase of the week.

Today I thought back bout a funny memory. Freshmen year in college there was a guy name Louis who lived on 3rd floor Owen and he happened to be talking to my roommate, Catherine, and some other people about a fellow friend, Matt. He thought that this person was unusual so he called him an "odd duck". Now this was hilarious since Louis was sort of an odd fellow himself. But on an even more hilarious note, the person who he was talking about was not the oddest in the group of our friends. So here's to odd ducks everywhere. Quack and let everyone know you are out of the ordinary. Do you hear me, Don? ;)

Why do they have to follow me?

Today I almost witnessed four accidents. One on the way to work and three on the way home. People are just crazy. They don't use their blinkers or their brains. I think we should build a floating island off of the Gulf of Mexico and send all idiotic driver's to this island for a period of reflection and driving lessons (don't ask me how they'll have driving lessons on a floating island because I just don't know what to tell you). After almost being side swiped by a driver this morning who didn't use their blinker or look in their mirrors, I think it's safe to say that he was a baka. Pardon my Japanese.

No way. I must be a freak of nature!

One day while Don was driving and I was sitting in the passenger front seat, I happened to look in the mirror and realized something hilarious. My lips have eyes! No joke. Just checkout the picture and you'll see what I mean. Notice the two freckles on the top lip. It looks kind of like when people wear shirts over their head and draw eyes on their chins and lip sync to some silly song (you know the kind of stuff you do at ward talent shows). The funny thing is I know for a fact that I didn't use to have freckles on my lips. I'm slowly turning into a freckle monster. Watch out or I might eat you!

Parodies are always good for a laugh.

For some odd reason I woke up this morning and decided that I would post about a song Lindsey Pierson, Adrean Casper, Catherine Knapp, and I parodied. It was for the Institute Closing Social and people signed up to sing their country song parodies. I remember that we all rewrote the words to the Dixie Chicks song "You were mine" on a Sunday in less than an hour. It came surprisingly fast and it made us laugh, so I'll share the lyrics with you. Enjoy!

Ode to Chapter One by the Ditsy Hicks
(You Were Mine by Dixie Chicks parody)

I can’t find a reason to withdraw.
‘Cause it’s already passed the deadline,
and I need these credits to be mine.

I can’t find a reason to hang on.
In this class of English 101,
My professor blabs on and on. Oh no!

CHORUS:
Sometimes I wake-up drooling in class.
And sometimes I scream out you bum. You bum!
What right does he have to test us on stuff that we covered in chapter one.

I took out all my notes from week one.
It looks so foreign to me.
Can’t tell metaphor from simile.

Even though these old notes have begun to fade.
The test is in an hour.
And I need some time to shower. I stink.

CHORUS

I can give him three good reasons why I’m failing his class.
He’s old and he’s dry and he makes me cry.
So how can I pass this dinosaurs’s class?

CHORUS

Don’t remember chapter one.

I Admit it. I'm addicted.

I'm not a big shopper. Not usually. Unless it comes to certain article of clothing. I don't wear this specific article of clothing but I get some satisfaction after finding a beautiful specimen. Today after buying my husband a new suit, we went to Macy's because the nice man at S&K Men's Wear said we should check out some other shops. So while Don was perusing through wilted looking suits, I maneuvered towards a promising sales table. Lo and behold I found it. The beauty of beauties. It was love at first sight. This was one gorgeous tie (the picture definitely doesn't do it justice). I showed Don and he about crapped his pants (thank goodness he didn't actually do it or that would have been messy). Usually Don and I don't agree on ties, because we have different tastes. So imagine my surprise when he agreed with me. It was a steal. A $40 tie for $12. Now we just have to wait for the new suit to be altered and he'll look like one sweet homeboy dressed to kill.
