Jim & Nick's is not my best friend.
So we ended up celebrating Don's birthday on Friday rather than his actual birthday since he ended up working an 11 hour shift on Thursday. He wanted to try out a BBQ place he'd been hearing about from the locals. So we entered the restaurant and ordered. He had BBQ ribs with a side of apples and cole slaw while I had a pork salad with vinaigrette dressing. It was okay, but I guess a BBQ joint isn't where you go for a salad. But seeming as I don't care much for BBQ anyway, I opted for a salad. We left and then two days later tragedy struck. That's right, tragedy in the form of food poisoning. I had never had food poisoning before and I don't recommend getting it. Yay for cramping, nausea, diarrhea, throwing up and my personal favorite, exploding! I would have done the Pepto Bismol dance, but I obviously wasn't in the mood to dance around like a crazy person. Needless to say I wasn't able to teach my Primary class on Sunday. A word of advice if you ever get food poisoning I hope you at least ordered something worth the pain you'll be going through because I sure as heck didn't. Not that it would have made my predicament any more enjoyable if I had ordered an oriental chicken salad from Applebee's.

Am I reading a claim or a scene from a Hollywood movie?
Yeah so today I had the most interesting claim cross my path. As I'm listening to this lady's story, I just can't believe it. It was insane. A commercial vehicle about the size of a moving truck went into her lane, hit her, and sent her spinning into the brush off the side of the road. He didn't stop. He continued to go on his merry way. She couldn't get out of the car since she was 7 months pregnant, but luckily a man had stopped because he had seen smoke coming from the brush where her vehicle was located. He helped her out and as they were walking away from her vehicle, it explodes into flames. Not only that but she starts to go into labor! It makes you think that Hollywood does get some of its ideas from real life. I hope that never happens to me. That lady was so lucky that she was alive. God must have been looking out for her. Thankfully that man stopped when he saw the smoke or the outcome of this accident would have been different. Three cheers for the unsung heroes in America and around the world. Hip hip hooray! Hip hip hooray! Hip hip hooray!

Do I look like a shoplifter to you?
I don't have a lot to say. I'm not one to complain. So most of the stuff that I will be posting on here will be random. Well as random as I can get. Well this past week has been crazy. I'm a fan of the saying: When it rains, it pours. It is so true. Anyway after getting off from work(finally on time since I've been working a bit of over time since we are behind) I went to Wally world to buy some treats for the Relief Society book club that would be held at my apartment and I wanted to buy my husband a birthday present. For those of you who don't know, I usually by my gifts WAY in advance. So it's very UNUSUAL for me to buy a birthday gift 2 days before someone's birthday. Now the reason for this wasn't because I forgot, but because the gift I had been working on didn't work out. I'll just save it for another occasion. Maybe National Hot Dog Day, who knows. Anyway after I had bought my bags of goods and an unspecified birthday gift, I walked towards the door to leave Wally world. When I was abruptly stopped by the Wal-Mart door greeter. She asked me if she could see my receipt. So I obligingly handed it to her. Then she proceeded to ask me where the unspecified birthday present was listed on the receipt. Well I don't know about you, but even though the receipt was faded, I don't see how she could not pick it out on the receipt. So I pointed to it and said the price. I found it kind of funny since I don't consider myself to look like a shoplifting criminal. I mean in all my years of shopping at Wal-Mart I have NEVER NEVER seen anyone stopped by a Walmart door greeter so they could look at their receipt. Maybe it's new protocol, but maybe I actually do look like a shady shoplifter like Winona Ryder. I don't know you tell me.
